Issue #12
[Locked to Friends; one friendly conversation rule, etc.]
Guess who got their filters back, bitches?
[Locked to Enemies; one unfriendly conversation rule, etc.]
You all suck.
Man, it feels awesome to say that in private again.
[Locked to Cass Cain and Cassel Sharpe]
Lunch today? All three of us? Let me know.
[Locked to Rorschach, forwarded to Iris and Lisbeth]
See, now with my filters, I am a much happier inmate and your life just got marginally easier. Congratulations.

Then I can't blame them for defending their mind, objectively speaking.
Re: [private]
She couldn't take someone she wanted walking round remembering me. If I were inclined to take an excessively sentimental view of it, [which she kind of is] I could read that as defending me from the worst enemy I have.
But I think self-defense is probably more realistic.
[private]
Could be a bit of both.
Re: [private]
[Yeah, Iris would rather Babs didn't go there. Not out loud. Plausible deniability, it's a thing.]
[private]
Why did she hate you so much?
[private]
...you know, it's not that I don't have the full measure of that arrogance myself. I know it's there. I try and choose friends who won't be afraid to call me on it. You'll see when you meet Panda.
If you asked her, she'd have said she hated me for wasting so much time before evolving into her, and she wouldn't have been lying. But hating me for letting myself become her was even stronger.
Either way, she couldn't deal with leaving any traces of me. That's really the sum of our existence, you know - not just time lords, I mean, anyone. We are the aggregate of the memories we leave behind. She couldn't see those and not attack them. Jealousy, basically.
[private]
Not just of your imprint, either. I think she saw the relationships you formed and realised she couldn't connect with people that way, not anymore.
[There's a new strain in her voice. She's not only talking about Bianca, anymore.]
[private]
Though she did have enough of me left to go for people who don't use easily. She was very interested in that other Oracle.
[private]
That's what she did. Use people.
